Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and child labor standards affecting full-time and part-time workers in the private sector and in Federal, State, and local governments.

FLSA regulation changes were effective August 23, 2004. Employees not meeting the minimum salary requirement ($455/week) or duties requirements cannot be exempted from FLSA regulations. Education and resource materials regarding FLSA and salaried non-exempt employees are listed in the right margin.
